We would like to say thank you to all that participated in the 028 election over the past two days. For many of you having UPEC, Local 792, LiUNA voted in yesterday is an exciting and necessary change. Now that this change is official many of you have question about where we go from here. In an effort to help bring you all up to speed we are sending you this update. The next step will be a general meeting for all of the 028 members. This date will be coming soon. This meeting will introduce UPEC officially and they will be available to answer those questions. They will line out additional meetings toward collection of your input toward the contract that they will negotiate on our behalf.
One of the most asked questions I have received has been regarding fees and membership. Let me first explain that UPEC membership dues are only $37.50 per month and is then divided into pay periods. It is important to have as many employees in the bargaining unit become members so that the County will recognize the strength that our group has in numbers.
